Now this is a story all about hownMy life got flipped-turned upside downnAnd I'd like to take a minutenJust sit right therenI'll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bel-AirnnIn west Philadelphia born and raisednOn the playground was where I spent most of my daysnChillin' out maxin' relaxin' all coolnAnd all shooting some b-ball outside of the schoolnWhen a couple of guys who were up to no goodnStarted making trouble in my neighborhoodnI got in one little fight and my mom got scarednShe said, "You're movin' with your auntie and uncle in Bel-Air."nnI begged and pleaded with her day after daynBut she packed my suitcase and sent me on my waynShe gave me a kiss and then she gave me my ticket.nI put my Walkman on and said, "I might as well kick it."nnFirst class, yo, this is badnDrinking orange juice out of a champagne glass.nIs this what the people of Bel-Air living like?nHmm, this might be alright.nnBut wait I hear they're prissy, bourgeois, all thatnIs this the type of place that they just send this cool cat?nI don't think sonI'll see when I get therenI hope they're prepared for the prince of Bel-AirnnWell, the plane landed and when I came outnThere was a dude who looked like a cop standing there with my name outnI ain't trying to get arrested yetnI just got herenI sprang with the quickness like lightning, disappearednnI whistled for a cab and when it came nearnThe license plate said "Fresh" and it had dice in the mirrornIf anything I could say that this cab was rarenBut I thought, "Nah, forget it."n– "Yo, home to Bel-Air."nnI pulled up to the house about 7 or 8nAnd I yelled to the cabbie, "Yo home smell ya later."nI looked at my kingdomnI was finally therenTo sit on my throne as the Prince of Bel-Air
